Speaking of Rick rolling... I just did the #ubuntuforums irc channel, and a forum (not giving links to it, don't want to spoil it)
Go to youtube, and click on a featured video, they did it again.
See this little video (by HBO) http://youtube.com/watch?v=Tobtm3SBbCI

the BBC news showed footage of 'flying' penguins this morning!

it is on their website, but unfortunately, it can only be viewed on their 'iplayer' which doesn't support linux (they are supposed to be developing a linux version).

Works for me. All the content of the iplayer is available to stream, it's just the downloadable client that doesn't have a linux version I believe.

I was hoping that the news that ISO is likely to approve OOXML was an April Fool - it's certainly a joke of a sort, but not a very funny one!

Surely the colour scheme of the forums today is an April Fool's joke?
It looks awful and is barely legible.

Well I know my friends and I are getting my roommate, made him a poster of his favourite (and by favourite I mean not) bands that I'm gonna hang on the wall, and claim I've just heard their music and really like it. And, we're taking a rug from a friend down the hall and leaving a ransome note. We thought about putting his desk in the bathroom, like in The Office, but decided it was too much work.

I uploaded Automatix into Ubuntu's universe repositories, which seemed to fool at least a few people and give some pretty good laughs on Planet Ubuntu.
As an extra teaser, I marked the upload to close Bug #1.

i read this in one of the free London newspapers -
BMW's war on dog wee (http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=130296&in_page_id=34)
A pet who relieves itself over the new model's wheels will get quite a buzz out of it – as an unpleasant 200volts shoots through its body. lol
Dr Hans Zoff, the boffin behind the Canine Repellent Alloy Protection system, said: 'Research shows that most BMW customers love to keep their cars clean – but dog fouling is a constant irritant.'looooool
