You could always install the 8.04 beta. I'm running it now and it seems nice and stable. Of course, Hardy won't seem so special on launch day if you do that, but I was one of those kids who always wanted his Christmas presents early. :)

Aside from some problems on sites with Flash and other little bumps, Hardy's beta is fantastic.

I tried GNOME 2.22 on my Zenwalk Snapshot and discovered nothing interesting (to me).
