They are making a Halo movie and using linux to do it...read on.

This doesn't surprise me. A highly customized headless Linux box is going to have more raw computational processing power than any Windows box could ever have. It would be economic suicide if Weta Digital were to use 1000 Windows boxes.

If it's about the bottom dollar, wouldn't you use Linux instead of Windows?

Very ironic indeed.
Totally agree with the raw computing power of headless linux servers.
I have two of them running at home, and they totally rule! Both of them are AMD K6 400s.
Linux has windows beat on the server front i'm afraid. Now the desktop is another animal indeed.
