I'm looking for a Content Management System with an integrated Bulletin Board/Forum system. In addition, if I was able to add a few of my own custom forms and pages that would be a huge plus. I've tried WordPress and WP-United with phpBB but wp-united was way too buggy and the wp-united developer won't help unless you pay for tech support.
I really like the the look and feel of phpBB but php is a pain to work with should I have to hack a few of my own mods somewhere along the line. vBulletin is also nice but I can't afford anything other than free software at this point.
Coding the project on my own is completely out of the question as I am the only one working on this aspect of the project right now. I prefer Python if possible.
I've read a very little about Plone and I'm not sure if it will let me do what I want. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

There is always a solution. For example Joomla! with FireBoard component.

Joomla! CMS: http://joomla.org/
FireBoard component for Joomla!: http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,2134/Itemid,35/

I would suggest you take a look at Drupal, I run it on a couple of my own sites even though I don't really even know PHP.
