Inspired by the responses to this thread (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=72730), I decided to fork it.

Do you own a tablet pc? (non tablet owners are welcome to post)

What do you use it for? Which operating systems do you have installed? Have you been able to get all tablet specific functions working in Ubuntu? Overall, are you satisfied with the Ubuntu + tablet pc experience?

Don't have one. Is there any reason to buy a tablet pc instead of a laptop? Laptops have a keyboard and are cheaper ;)

almost all tablet pcs from the last two years have keyboards. what's commonly referred to as a tablet pc today is a computer that can be used in both tablet and laptop modes.

i can speak for myself; for me the reasons were the intuition of the pen interface in apps like gimp and photoshop (nothing beats the ability to draw directly on the screen), the specs vs. price of my particular tablet pc, and my graduation project in part of which i'll be experimenting with alternative input devices.
