What do you 'mix' with your Ubuntu usage?...meaning what other OS's do you actively use besides Ubuntu(or Ubuntu derivative) or even what do you use other then Ubuntu on a regular basis?
Along with the OzOs Ubuntu derivative I also use PC-BSD, Windows XP Tablet Edition and Apple OSX.

What do you 'mix' with your Ubuntu usage?
Ubuntu 8.04, Ubuntu 7.10, Ubuntu 6.06, OpenSUSE, Arch, Slackware, Sidux, Debian.
I keep my primary computer stable and static, but my laptops and any other computer I own will have a mix.
(If I could start all over again, I would likely not have Ubuntu on my primary computer, but I like to keep my primary computer the same and familiar)

Curious...if you could start all over again what would you choose to have on your primary computer?

I currently use Ubuntu 8.04 and Ubuntu 7.10, though I am thinking of changing my 7.10 installation for Slackware - something difficult.

Just Ubuntu 8.04 as I don't have enough time at the moment to work full time, run an Ubuntu dev release and a further few OS's. However I would like to try Arch out, although I've always had problems getting the installer to work properly.

Currently, Ubuntu 7.10, Debian Testing and Arch.
BTW, +1 for Arch (in case I had to use one single distro). I installed it like 1 week ago and I haven't booted any other OS since then.

Mandriva 2008 Powerpack. Had it installed for over a month thus far. Really enjoying it too, so I expect I'll keep it around now.

Hi Guy's this is my first post here in a long, long time, I had to regester to post, cause I could not remember what user name I was using. :)
I'm a Debian/KDE user and a long time Mepis user/tester, this weekend I installed Ubuntu Hardy Server, x-window-system and kdebase, root/Super User, Super User File Manager and I'm really impressed and have now done 4 installs, FFox3 was a little unstable, so I removed it and installed FFox2 and I had some problem with Synaptic on my laptop, it would crash, but purging Synaptic and reinstalling seems to have fixed that, I will be using Hardy until it goes final and it may become my new main desktop. :)
My current main desktop is Debian stable, other systems I'm running are openSUSE 10.3 kde3/kde4, Mepis 6.5 and 7.0, Debian experimental/kde4, PCLOS 2007 kde3and kde4/2008 kde3and kde4 and at the bottom of my boot list is XP Pro and I can't remember the last time it got booted, all togather I'm running 12 Linux installs on my main computer, 4 on my main laptop and my two desktop test machines are running even more, I would have to take inventory to see what all they are running and I have a work laptop to, it has 2 linux installs + XP Pro and it is now retired and so am I. :)
I hope I don't get flamed for useing KDE and posting to this forum, but I'm really enjoyong Ubuntu Hardy, as long as I can have it my way. :)

I have replaced my Ubuntu 7.10 installation with Arch. It's a little odd that my harddrives are low located at sdX instead of hdX, and my cd drive is now at sr0, but I'm sure I can figure it out.
My laptop is still running Ubuntu 8.04

The change from hdX to sdX is a kernel change. Every single distro has now done it, as of 2.6.22.
I no longer run ubuntu at all in this house -- I have Arch on the desktop and Zenwalk on the laptop.

Ubuntu 7.10 & Vista. I haven't booted to Vista for a long time. SP1 is out, and I don't care enough to boot to Vista and uninstall the beta and reinstall the final release.
What's the big deal about Arch?

Arch is super special, oh let me tell you... the whimsy, the wonder, the great fun!
Forreal though, it's a few things for me: bare bones install (this is the biggie for most I think), pacman package manager whoops your derriere, ABS/AUR system for compiling packages with ease (haven't scoured the net for a source .tar in a looong time).

It is very simple and light, and allows one to make a "perfect" setup.
Of course, that takes time to do, and that makes it not the best choice for everyone, especially those that are not interesting in tinkering or spending a lot of time on setting up.

openSuse (10.2) on my Laptop (subject to change as often as a horny easter bunny between openSuse, CentOS and Ubuntu.. 8.04 may make me shake things up)
Edubuntu (7.10, server) on my kids' computer for general use and games (SuperTuxKart is addictive)!
Windows XP on my stable desktop computer (my wife's primary computer, our primary graphics computer, and my primary .NET computer).
The server I''m making will probably run either openSuse (10.3) or CentOS (4.3) though Ubuntu is still in the running.
Basically I fool around with different distros, but that's because I know I can always count on Ubuntu when I either grow tired of it, or frag it and need to re-install something and get working quickly.

Now that you brought it up, I forgot RAV TUX, sorry.
I did say I would be using OzOS on my laptop, but due to my using my laptop as a testing ground, it isn't being used at the moment.

I'm still rather new to the whole word of non-windows oses, I recived my gutsy live cd via mail on 10/2/08 and installed it right away.
I'm currently running:
Only Ubuntu 7.10 on laptop.
Dual booting Ubuntu 7.10 with XP on Desktop (need it for visual C# programing for uni and runing live messenger and skype for my parents to talk with my siblings outside the country, it would me hours to explain why everything is different if I made them use Ubuntu).

Currently ~100 % Debian
I dualboot between sidux and etch (rarely). I am going to try out Kubuntu 8.04 because I am somekind of maintainer of 2 Kubuntu machines.

I've got Ubuntu 7.10, and Arch sitting on a laptop.
There is a Windows XP partition on my main computer, but it got borked during the install, I could easily fix it with a reformat, but its not worth the effort of backing up all my data just to get Windows ;) (Plus it can wait until I get a nice 250gb SATA drive)

Ubuntu 7.10, Ubuntu 8.04
Windows XP, Windows Vista
^ My next setup with will be full Linux install with Windows in a tiny contained virtual machine which I can beat with a stick when stuff goes wrong. Currently I lack the RAM/CPU for virtualization.
Puppy Linux on an old laptop.
One day when I have time I'll try Arch and Gentoo :)
