note this a hack or planning/pre-alpha state. it's pretty stable for me though, more stable than xcompmgr and the rest. anyway it might reorder your window stacking, burn your house down or kill your cat. you have been warned. good luck :)

Thanks be to molom for his post here (http://cafelinux.org/forum/index.php/topic,1130.0.html).

A new window manager called ecomorph has been released, which is based on Compiz and works on E17 and is designed for E17. For more info - http://code.google.com/p/itask-module/wiki/Stuff

I have known about this for a while, and as soon as I get E17 installed on my hardy machine I will be testing it. :)

I guess it doesn't work with *box. If not, why fork Compiz?

First off, it doesn't work with the *boxes because it is made to be a module in E17 which applies Compiz.

Also, the reason they forked it (sort of) is because they didn't want to bother Compiz with more code which would only apply to E17, and because E17 requires most stuff to be run as modules.

its actually nice to have this hack/project in existence, as this will offload some of the Frequently ask compositing Questions in e17.

though if you've been to E community for a while, then you'd know that the core developers wouldn't endorse it. not just because its hack but because its heavy in Enlightenment terms.

still its good to have something like this at this E stage.

I think this will broad the E17 user base. I'm compiling it right now! :)

not really, what e17 needs is to get out of beta, have a working desktop and a working file manager...

gOS tried but it was buggy and incomplete
