i was wondering why ubuntu / canonical don't take part in SoC ..
and also i noticed there was not topic at UF ..
wouldn't it be nice for ubuntu to have some projects at SoC?

also anybody who is going to apply for a project?

I am not sure. But I never know what Google's commitment is to the Foss community. Some times they are good a contributing code and being cooperative but other times not.

Fedora.. even Minix3 is in!
eg. one Fedora project is to port Apport to work with Fedora..

Well SoC is pretty clear..
Distros like Ubuntu submit requests and if an appropriate mentor and student are found to work efficient on it Google gives money to student and to organization..
only reason i can imagine is lack of mentors available (?)

Or Ubuntu forgot to register.. I highly doubt Google would reject Ubuntu seeing how they use it a lot themselves.

But this kinda sucks if it's not a mistake, I was hoping to enter SoC on Ubuntu's side.

i agree with phrostbyte, for the time being there are only ideas which probably were be open for Ubuntu too.. later Google will accept or reject the proposed ideas and sponsor the accepted ideas..
