Okay since the 9600 came out about 1-2 months ago finally the first of the 9800 where released. Right now on newegg they have a evga 9800 with built in hdmi and some other stuff. 1gb of video memory i think this is amazing and a new leap in video technology and totally wipes ati's but. I think there now worth $600 yet but soon once they get below 500 i think i will try one out tell me what yall think of the cards LINK (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130338)

I'm still happy with my 6600gt on my desktop, my laptop has integrated Intel video and I'm in no hurry to upgrade :)

i dont know if i should wait another 2 years for the 10s because it seems that each year that i finally buy a new video card the next series comes out and kicks my card/cards butt

I can see some people getting confused now.

ATI and nvidia both have 9600 series cards. ATI radeon 9600 is an old DX9 card. Nvidia's 9600 is a top of the line(for now) Dx10 card. Somone might try to find a bargin on a 9600, and end up buying a radeon 9600.

As for the new card, I have not need for one. My X1600 is just fine on my desktop, and my 8600gt in my laptop is hardly used.

Got an 8800GT not too long ago, it is wayyyyyyyyyyy more than what I need, hell I still think I got too much of a beast for what I need.

I can't imagine one "upgrading" a nice 8 series to this one unless they're a serious, super duper gamer maniac who hungers for the tiniest of FPS increases. Even the 7900GT's are still kicking butt with lots of games.
