I totally see it. That lamp is far to close to the edge of the dvd/cd rack it is perched upon. It's perched so percariously there, and it really is a beautiful lamp. I'd hate to see it break.

When the cat jumps up to investigate what caught it's eye, I wonder what the momentum of its leap will do to the monitor.

That's why on some mailing lists there are C&C warnings. Coffee--if you laugh as you're drinking coffee, it's hard on monitors, and cats, for if a cat is sleeping on your lap, and you suddenly laugh, they tend to leap off, and their leaps are rather powerful. If their hind legs are braced against a sensitve part as they leap, it can hurt. (It hurts anyway, as they extrude their claws for purchase.)

So, my money's on the monitor as the endangered item.
