I'm in the process of building a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) - a PC that is ment for music making. It will be running Ubuntu Linux.
I've managed to find and buy an excellent motherboard for this PC (this motherboard is good, because it doesn't have any low quality consumer audio devices integrated):
http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/bz/
It just never occured to me that Intel Northwood processors are hard/impossible to find now!? If anyone of you knows a place where I could buy a 3.00GHz Intel Pentium 4 Northwood processor (Socket 478, FSB800) I'd be very grateful. I've searched with Google, but no luck.
This motherboard's BIOS revision is 05, so it does not support Pentium 4 Prescott processors. Only Northwood will do and speeds up to 3.00 GHz.
