Hi all,

I currently have a blog at wordpress.com dealing with taking down a ring of identity thieves that have been harassing a lot of people across the US.

Wordpress is ok, but I'd like to have my own site with my own wordpress installation so I can have a little more control.

I'm looking for a good host that will let me pay by the month. All of the sites I've seen make you pre-pay. I can afford monthlies but don't have enough right now for a bulk payment.

Any suggestions?

Why not host it yourself? You're free to charge yourself whatever you want. :)

Some people don't have the network connection to host their own website, especially if they get a lot of traffic :)

My friend hosts my site but if he didn't I'd probably check out laughingsquid.net. It looks like it's month to month from what I can tell.

If you get a domain, I recommend asmallorange.com.

It is the host I use, and I like it a lot, I have the plan that costs $5 a month. :P

It has all you would need to run wordpress and more.

Thanks for your replies everyone. After some research I've decided to go with 1&1. They have great reviews and a $4.99/month plan with the first three months free. That's well within my budget.
