Ok mid-state Ubuntu users--What would you all like to do? I know the Marketing Team has flyers, but what else can we do to promote Hardy Heron?

I've thought of:

HACC and other local colleges demo/install fest

CPLUG involvement

C'mon..I know there are more people than just myself and freelancer...Where are you?

What about handing out flyers and having CDs/people available? Get a pack of 20 CDs with Hardy on them and maybe go all-out and wear a Hardy shirt (not even sure if they have them yet ... but it'd complete the look).

Having one person hand out flyers and one person <handing out/providing more detailed info> should do the trick in most locations. Anyone more than slightly interested can stop to talk to someone and take home a CD if interested.

I should be able to work with someone in either Lancaster or the Harrisburg area (I live in Lancaster and work in Camp Hill).

That's a good idea--where do you suggest? We've got HACC, F&M, E-Town, Millersville, Stephens, York College, York Tech, Penn State in both Harrisburg and York---Where do you think we can do the most *evangelizing* that will do the most good?

If you like, join us Wednesday night in the #ubuntu-us-pa IRC channel on Freenode at 8:30, we're going to talk about Hardy Heron Release activities.

Sorry I missed Wednesday. I assume you're on every Wednesday?

I'd be curious if any of the colleges explore Linux at all in any of their programs. That'd the the natural place to go and hand stuff out. Beyond that, though ... I'll go wherever anyone else is (though I'd prefer not to drive to Carlisle or west).
