I've recently acquired some domains related to the possible buyout of Yahoo by Microsoft. I've thrown around the idea of setting up a quick MediaWiki (http://mediawiki.org) installation and doing some "fan fiction" (likely by non-fans of Microsoft like myself), perhaps an alternate universe like EPIC 2014 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPIC_2014) where the buyout definitely happens. Really, I'd like to mock Ballmer, Gates, and such.

Anybody interested? If I got about two dozen people I'd be willing to set it up and incur the startup hosting costs. If I set this up, where else do you think I could try to recruit creative writers/artists from the free software crowd?

Here's your fake Steve Ballmer:

Here's your fake Bill Gates:

And here's a fake Steve Jobs too:

Thanks for the links; I was unaware of the Fake Ballmer. Although I'd like to poke fun at people, however, I think the focus should be an alternate reality. The idea here is to get a bunch of people to collaborate and expand on that reality. I think I'm funny, but I'd get pretty sick of myself if I took the approach the "Fakes" take.

too bad if they want a domain you own, they will just take the issue to court and most likely win, because it makes more sense for them to own it rather then you.

Actually, I don't think they would want to do that unless they're about to actually rename Microsoft to "Yahmicroosoft" or something similar. Even if they did, I would just get a new domain with something inspired by the alternate universe we create.

I ended up installing a quick MediaWiki site with some links to news articles at:
http://yahmicroosoft.com
http://yahmicroosoft.net
http://yahmicroosoft.org
http://yamicrohoosoft.com
http://yamicrohoosoft.net
http://yamicrohoosoft.org (http://yamicrohoosoft.net)

Until I have the time to work on something more creative (not any time soon), I'm afraid that's how the sites will stay.
