I am back in Boulder, Colorado!

I am here until April 8th and working on securing a job and an apartment/house.

My wife and I plan to settle down here at least until she completes her PhD at CU. We may settle here permanently.

We went into a coffee shop on "The Hill" and I got a little excited to see Ubuntu postcards, announcing a Ubuntu meeting but upon closer inspection it was for the "Ubuntu" society.(I wonder if I should check into this?)

Anyway, Boulder is an awesome town! The FlatIrons are the most beautiful mountains I have seen. The people here are very friendly (a Santa Fe type friendly).

I was wondering if anyone here knows of or are a part of a LUG here?

My cousin lives in Fort Collins, which isn't really *that* far away. I don't know how much he uses Linux anymore, but he used to be Linux-exclusive at home.

Get some hiking done while there! Hopefully it'll warm up enough soon :lolflag:

Totally offtopic...

A couple years ago I went was in Boulder since my cousin married some rich girl and her family paid for everyone to stay in the hotel Boulderado, (we also got rides in hummer limos and regular limos) it was a good time. And I hiked/climbed to the top of one of the flatirons. Good time. (while I was there I also accidentally walked into a pr0n shop...I thought it was video game store since all I saw on the windows were "NEW RELEASES" (I was 16 at the time), that was kinda awkward when I realized they didn't sell video games)

But nice city ya got there, it was enjoyable. ^_^

CU-Boulder, booo!

I'm a CSU alum and I'm living and working in Fort Collins. Boulder is nice if you can avoid all the pot heads. Good luck!

What is Colorado Boulder like? Is it typical of Midwestern US - you know, different from East Coast and Northern California?

Change of plans...

My wife and I plan to return to Portland, Oregon on April 8th.

Primarily because I have decided to return to school and CU doesn't have the major I desire. Secondarily because the job market in my profession in Boulder is flat.

....but I will be here in Boulder until April 8th.

what's wrong with potheads? they don't do anything bad most of the time. unless you're just one of those people who thinks the act of smoking marijuana is just the worst thing in the world.

:(

What are you wanting to major in? If you are looking for any kind of technical job, Boulder is an excellent place to be.
