What programming language should i learn next? i know alot of web languages, PHP, JavaScript(AJAX), XHTML(obviously)... im looking for somthing that i can make real software with. I heard Python is pretty basic. I tried C++ but it seemed really complicated. That was like a year ago i tried though so.. i suppose i could try.. anyways, what do you think?

Do Python - it's easy. There is also a great showcase site at http://pygame.org.

It is vast, and a bit complicated. But its doable.! I've no other option, my Job profile requires me to learn Java.

Many desktop applications for the GNOME desktop are written in Python. I think Python is a very good choice to learn first.

Is Java complicated? That depends on what you call "complicated". I'm a professional Java programmer. Java is certainly easier than C++. I don't think Java is that much more complicated than Python. See http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/ for a nice set of Java tutorials.

I think im going to learn python simply because i have been searching around and like you said, many gnome applications are written in java, and i want to help out in the open source community... Java comes next, i just ordered 2 python books off of amazon, some apress beginner one and apress Python Network Programming, anyone read these? I have read apress before and it was pretty good.

If you want to start right now with Python, have a look at the tutorial on the official Python website (http://docs.python.org/tut/).
