Writer help wanted!

I don't know if this is the right place to post this topic! Anyway, I'm looking for a talented writer to help me write a non geek description of the new features in Hardy Heron. The text is for my version of the Hardy Heron cover (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Hardy/Alternate/DVD_Cover_%28Fela_Kuti_Chocolate%29).

So a quick example would be:

GEEK VERSION: Desktop 3D effects

Compiz Fusion is enabled by default and will bring 3D desktop visual effects that improve the usability and visual appeal of the system. Ubuntu 7.10 automatically detects whether the hardware is capable of running compiz; if not, it falls back to normal desktop. Additional effects can be enabled in “System/Preferences/Appearance” under the “Visual Effects” tab. There you can also disable the effects entirely.

NON GEEK VERSION: Beautiful New Desktop

Switching between apps shows a full preview of each window, windows flow smoothly across the desktop when dragged, and you can slide between different desktops.


Is such a text already written for 8.04?

So basically you need ungeeky versions of the package feature descriptions on the alpha 6 page? I can help, but I'm not sure which text needs changed.

I can help this out... English is not my natural language, but I think is good enough to give it a try. I'll re-write the descriptions as un-geekly as possible and send them back to you when I'm done. I don't have a lot of spare time, so it could take for a pair of days. If you don't mind... Do you need it ASAP or could you wait until... let's say... saturday?
