I'm working with inkscape but I need more fonts, how do I go about installing more fonts?

Easy answer: Just got to you home folder and add a new folder, and it .fonts (be sure to ad the . ). Put your fonts there, they are added. When you need to go back to add or remove fonts you will not see the folder due to the . in front of the name, so just type .fonts in (...home\user\.fonts)

edit...
the name might need to be .font, I can't remember and I am in Vista right now, sorry. If .fonts doesn't work re-name the folder without the s at the end.

Thanks lyceum, that was easy... just created a .fonts folder and dragged the fonts in there and it worked!

you can find a lot of fonts in ultamatix
sudo apt-get install ultamatix
but be careful i install those fonts then i get confused, so i try to remove it but still there......

If your font collection gets too big some programs start messing up.
If you intend to have a lot of fonts add fontmatrix as it allows you to limit whats fonts are available to programs. (god send with gimps font issue)
