View Full Version : One gaping hole in Linux Messaging Programs

I've never found a way (e.g through a plugin) to press the up arrow to get the last few messages posted on any messaging program (e.g for the msn/aim/yahoo protocols). There is this feature in Xchat or the IRC programs, but it's never appeared in other IM programs. It's very useful if you have to repeat something for whatever reason.

ctrl+up works fine in pidgin, and it is possible to edit the config file to change this to up on it's own, although I wouldn't recomend it.

Ah, thanks. I never knew about that. I wonder why it's simply "up" in IRC and in the terminal?

because those often have only 1 line of chat, so it is unlikly for you to press up to edit a previous line.
