Im in a violent love trriangle between Gnome and KDE. The reason I love (K)ubuntu, Ubuntu is sweet and simple though it may get very complex the cummunity because I can come on this forum and find a sholder to cry on as my problem is solved. (K)Ubuntu comes with snaptic which is like it comming with tucows and the install cd has most of what I need to start my day. KDE looks bloated but can sprint and run the distance where other fall slat on there faces. With Gnome you risk the threat of straining your wrist for its hard for the user to keep up.

But the most inportant part is the community the web services are a 24/7 teck support center, a caffe where poeple come to express there views and share inportant information. Ubuntu is more than a OS its a sense of community you end up feeling part of it.
