View Full Version : gtk chart/graph library

I need some advice here. Till now, I have done c and fortran progamming (no gui development). Now, I want to develop a medium size application (to keep track of personal finances..) on gnome. I read tutorials on glade/gtk and I think I can start with that. One thing that is stopping me is the lack of any graph/chart widget or library. I do want to put charts in there and would like to know what options do I have.
I found a library called matplotlib (http://matplotlib.sourceforge.net/) which looks very promising, but I have to use pyGtk for this. I do not mind using pyGtk (although I have to learn python) but I am not sure if python is good for developing such an application which deals with lots of data (multiple accounts and hundreds of transactions etc etc). What do you suggest??
