Cool, although I don't usually pay attention to the kernel, it is nice to hear that Linus is happy with it.

Ya, me neither. I just ran across this by chance.
He doesn't just seem happy, that looks like he is ECSTATIC about it.

Haha I think on my laptop I will upgrade to Hardy then somehow get this kernel.

You probably won't need to upgrade the entire version to get a new kernel, unless you have reasons other having a new kernel to want to upgrade. You can follow the guide at
http://www.howtoforge.com/kernel_compilation_ubuntu
to learn how to compile a custom kernel whenever you would like to.

Don't bother tho If you're wanting to use proprietary Nvidia cos it doesn't work with it (they're having problems with changes in the api)
