Yes - you are right.

I just wanted to give someone an edited avatar that i think would look better.

It's his avatar with no white background.

Since this thread has no real significance I'm going to go off the topic that really doesn't exist.

......steveneddy, do you really drink the coffee that is your signature?

Thank you for asking.

I have tried it a few times, but I must admit that it is very expensive.

It has a full, nutty flavor that, depending on the country of origin, ranges from bold and aromatic to bitter but full flavored.

Hard to explain, but it does have a different taste than a regular coffee.

One also must must make coffee in a French press to discover the true flavor of the coffee they drink.

We are currently drinking a full bean French roast ground course at home right before brewing. Seven minutes in the French press and 210 degree water makes the best coffee for everyday consumption.

Here's your avatar out of the box.

I must admit I strongly agree about French press coffee. My roommate let me try it at the beginning of last semester and I've been hooked on it everyday since:)

I can't remember when we discovered the French press, but I won't drink coffee without it.

Smelling the coffee at work in a drip coffee maker almost makes me ill now.

I edited your avatar in the last post. Hope you can use it.

Cool - hope you like it.

It does look better without the white square.

Cheers.

Just curious, how would one go about removing the white behind an image?

Just curious, how would one go about removing the white behind an image?

Say you have an image that looks like it is in a white square with the image of what you want in the middle of that white square.

You open the image in Gimp.

Once the image is open, right click the image and select

Layer --> Transparency --> Color to Alpha

A window appears, and says From (shows color in box) to Alpha

Alpha is total transparency.

So if the background is white, just click OK.

This a cool trick for regular pics also.

Try it out.

Awesome! I never knew it was that easy.
Now I don't have to go erasing all the white parts :lolflag:
