Is there a large enough gathering in the Tuscaloosa Area to start having a Ubuntu / Linux meet and greet on a monthly basis?
I know they have a few in Birmingham, however I am not very familiar with the area.

Maybe not monthly, but we could definitely meet up. I am in Northport (N 69) area. jump in the IRC channel or send a msg to the mailing list and we will set something up.

Nice, I work every night except Monday and Tuesday at WM distro in Northport, so if we have an IRC meeting then I'll be able to join in.

I have talked to one BALU member who is in Northport, and I will reach out to some other friends and try to set up a Meetup somewhere.
Any suggestions for a spot?

Hey did you guys ever get something set up? Let me know when and I'll drive my lazy butt down that way!

No, unfortunately, we did not. That all happened right around the big break, and we never came back to it.
I would still like to do something. With teeball starting, my weekend time is pretty much shot. Let's start looking for a date that we can meet up on.

The Barnes and Noble coffe shop might make a good beginning point, or one of the fast food joints if they have wifi, for you laptoppers.

Bang up idea, Eutaw! I had forgotten about that. Now to schedule a time that is outside the boy's teeball's practice/games.
Someone start up with a suggested time.
