Hello my friend and I want to record our podcast using audacity and one computer, and we have two microphone headsets. Is there any way to set up audacity to record from multiple microphones at the same time??

herm

google says you cant unless you have some sort of high end audio card
if i remember correctly audacity only records single input mono or stereo

might need a sound board or something

I think you need a mixer.
My dad has a mixer and has recorded it with 5 microphones, which put it all on the same line because of the mixer.

Get yourself an old component tape deck at a thrift store (like the one in this pic (http://www.saturn-sound.com/images/pioneer%20-%20stereo%20cassette%20tape%20deck%20-%20ctf-7171.jpg)). Connect the microphones to the two microphone jacks (you may need adapters), and the line out on the tape deck to the line in on your sound card. Get a cassette with the record tabs still intact (or cover the holes with tape), put it in the deck, hit record & pause. Adjust the microphone input on the tape deck as necessary.

Jack should be able to combine inputs, too.
