Any hope for my CD player?

So, I was using my portable CD player for a while until I realized that it wasn't reading the discs properly. At first, I though the laser was dirty or misaligned, but when I took the CD out, the clamp/hook thing that is on top of the motor came off with it! Unfortunately, I can't just stick it back onto the shaft as it will touch the bottom and refuse to spin. You have to position it to the right height so it will spin and be able to be read by the laser.

Any ideas on how I should get it to stick in place? (Sorry for the fuzzy picture)
