I'm sure this pendrives are much faster than the same chip in USB 2.0

Maybe some of the reasons that this pendrives aren't really spread are:
Chips aren't fast enough to stress the USB 2.0 Port. So, moving to a faster one won't give any performance increase. Then not every single computer has Firewire port but yes USB.

Could this be some of the reasons?

The reason I think irewire isn't used more is because it's cheaper for the pc builders to include usb instead of firewire.
