I'm almost sure that Mark Shuttleworth is some user talking around this forum with a hide nick. Would make no sense that he's not in touch with us even if is only to feel how people talk and discuss about Ubuntu.

What do you think guys?

He's probably got better things to do, trawling through bug reports (i bet thats his hobby), ebay, trolling on the MAC forums and laughing when his posts get deleted, eating toast, etc, etc, etc

Then again maybe he IS here, watching ..............

(or starting every post with 'i'm a linux n00b just for kicks)

This is Mark Shuttleworth:
http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=13307

SABDF = Self-Appointed-Benevolent-Dictator-For-Life.

And I reckon he keeps in touch with other areas of the community a lot more than the forums.

If he is that user, he made 3 posts since 2005.

Yes, he's here.

The difference is that while you and I read the forums and eat Ramen noodles from a pyrex measuring cup, he reads the forums and has beautiful women feeding him caviar with a gold spoon.

That's just his bean count, he made 11 posts in total (and yes I counted them all :p)

I doubt a billionaire has time to be sitting around on the forums

If you have 1 billion dollars, you can afford to have people do a lot of things for you to free you up. I'm not saying the man is idle, but I bet he reads more than most people suspect.

Having him reply to your thread or post would be one of the coolest things ever. Since it's so rare, it would be like finding a misprinted rare stamp, but better.

replace "Chuck Norris" with "Mark Shuttleworth" at
http://www.chucknorrisfacts.com/

Pretty much interchangable

He is on IRC most of the time. On freenode in the rooms #ubuntu-devel , #launchpad and #bzr and he does regularly join discussions there, so a forum wouldn't be much different. :)

The forums have really never been canonical first communication line. It's nice that he stops in every once in a awhile though. :)

I for one hopes he sees this thread and gives us a wave: ):P

The guy is so awesome, he's pretty much the reason I settled on Ubuntu :guitar:

Aren't you supposed to call out 'Olly Olly Oxen Free' or something?

Yes it would be nice but I hope Mark is smart enough to know hanging around here is not the best use of his time. Apparently he is. :-)

Exactly. If anything, then he only reads this forum. He obviously has higher priorities (i.e. development).

He's very accessible on IRC even if he doesn't frequent the forums so much.
