"RealPlayer, Helix users at risk of attack" (http://beta.news.com.com/RealPlayer,+Helix+at+risk+of+exploit/2100-7349_3-5884096.html?)

"A flaw has been discovered in RealNetworks' RealPlayer version 10.0.5.756 Gold and Helix Player 1.0.5.757 Gold running on Linux or Unix operating systems"

""Real has been duly informed about the issue and (they) are fixing (it). Sadly, though, it seems someone is trying to pinch my research. As such, I have been forced to release this advisory sooner than hoped," according to a Contex posting. "Until Real gets a new release out, do not play untrusted media with RealPlayer or Helix Player.""

Amusing user comment: "Is anyone surprised?" (http://beta.news.com.com/5208-7349-0.html?forumID=1&threadID=9941&messageID=71780&start=-1) makes me wonder why people continue to use Real/Helix Player on-line considering the history of security issues with both applications when there are other choices available in the FOSS community.
