Getting Blackdown sdk to support local characters

As a brand new Ubuntu (v.5.10 preview) user I have just finished upgrading the system with a new kernel and have also installed blackdown java sdk. Everything is working more or less like I had hoped it would, but for some reason this sdk does'nt recognize foreign characters (which in my case are swedish letters). Is there some way I can set the sdk to recognize these characters?

Nevermind, just a noob-mistake. Turns out it was a software issue - changing to a better editor did the trick...
