Actually i just want a forum on the ubuntuforums.org main forums.

There is a difference.

I want a subforum on the main ubuntu forums site just like there is a tamil team india.

Requesting your LoCo Forum:
Make a post here (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=181) with your LoCo team name and the following information:

1. Please make sure your project is listed on the LoCo team wiki here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamList
2. What subdomain prefix do you want. example: (prefix.ubuntuforums.org)
3. What is your LoCo team name
4. The forum user(s) (max 2) who will be the moderator for your forum
5. Please make sure you are the registered contact person for this LoCo Team as per the listing on the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamList wiki page

You are not the contact or team leader for Ubuntu India, therefore, you can not request a forum.

Ubuntu India has a team council. If they are interested in having a forum hosted here, they are more than welcome to ask either in this forum or via pm.

i would like to start a new loco team in India known as the, "Maharashtra team". I can also start a wiki but the problem is I want all of the members from western India (espec maharastra) to know about it. So is there any way of knowing which member belongs to maharastra state etc...

From within the forums, unless the members state in their profile or posts where they live, we have no real way.
