View Full Version : Problem with compiling wine source.

Since I currently have serious problems when it comes to compiling the source from Wine and the one which is supplied by Debian Etch refuses to work correctly, I would like to be able to fetch a debian package for this program, compiled for the PPC platform. Anyone here know where I can get this? I've tried looking at the Ubuntu packages by FTP but the package where no where in sight, unfortunately.

Well, to be honest, if you were able to compile Wine for PPC, you would be regarded as an amazing hacker by many people. I don't think anyone has even done that yet. But it might be possible to run Wine via an Intel-emulator (like qemu) on PPC AFAIK. However, the performance will be terrible for running any serious Win32 app besides Notepad or whatever.

Wine doesn't compile on PPC architecture yet, I'm affraid.

I see. I understand that Wine uses Intel hardware but I was curious whether it would compile on this platform...

And... I assume that there doesn't exist any other software which can do the same as Wine on this hardware, correct?
