i upgraded my old 19-ish " monitor with 1280x1024 to a 24" with 1920x1200. This thing is ginormious, I've been sitting way back in my chair, with my mouth open for like half an hour.

i think im going to go and put some shades on.

I had the same feeling when I upgraded from a 15" CRT (800x600) to a 17" LCD (1280x1024) in 2006.

Hah, same exact thing for me, early last year. The 15" seems so tiny now.

I had a 19" widescreen LCD. I went mobile and gave it to my girlfriend. I'm at 15.4". Not bad, but I have been loving the idea of a smaller 13.3" XPS.

The next monitor I will get will probably be a 24" 1920x1200. It will be hooked up to an AMD Fusion, I hope. I will keep my mouth open for a good hour as I play Oblivion.

I did the same thing with my laptop. The picture is a lot sharper and brighter than the other monitor.

Same thing happened when I ditched my 17 inch CRT monitor for a 24 inch Dell TFT. Totally awestruck. And I had to lower the brightness level in it 50% because it was burning my eyes with its awesomeness :lolflag:

I have my Eizo 24" set to 15% brightness (otherwise it would have fused my pupils shut by now).

I went from 800 x 600 to 1920 x 1200 in one step, and it was quite a shock!

I didn't like it at first, because it felt like too much of the screen was out of my direct field of vision (and moving the pointer to the edges of the screen seemed to require huge long mouse movements). I also found it difficult to get used to the look of the taskbar on a flat screen (because my previous screen was a CRT with a curved front). On the TFT, the taskbar looked like it was curved upwards in the centre.

However, I soon got used to the space on new monitor (and surprisingly quickly too). It only took about 2 or 3 days to acclimatise. Now I'd never go back to a smaller screen. In fact I've just placed an order for the new 30" Eizo (2560 x 1600).

Yeah that's right, it's economically unwise to buy a bigger monitor because it makes you hunger for an even bigger one. My next one will not be smaller than 24 that's for sure :D

I just unpacked my new monitor, 1680x1050, and it is huge. When I got my 17" LCD, I was happy at such a nice monitor. Now that monitor is tiny to me....

I have a 20" samsung 206bw (1680x1050) that I had been using on my desktop, now I have it hooked up to my 27" (no name) tv, 1360x768 necessary cause otherwise I can't read it hehe.

I've been contemplating buying an iMac and hooking that up to the samsung.. still not sure..

Lol I upgraded from like a 15" or 17" to a 22" (cheap, too! only about $150 for it new)... from 1024x768 to 1680x1050. I love it :) It's hard to find good wallpaper for my resolution, though.

I went from a 19" CRT to 26" LCD+24" CRT duals, it blew my mind for a long time off the bat. Now my LCD sits right at the very edge of my desk and I sit at least 2 feet back. I always find myself turning the brightness right down near 0 when reading on it at night.

I feel so inadequate owning only one 22" widescreen. But then again my company bought it for me
