According to this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=574286) thread, the 400 000th member registered on October 12th, 2007.
Now we are in February 2008 and guess what? The 500 000th user is about to emerge soon!
Let's continue the tradition here and give that user a warm greeting!
Since the forum growth is outrageous we need to watch carefully and catch the lucky one. He or she might even not know what will happen. Make it a surprise! Just like a birthday party, where the lights were initially turned off and all of a sudden everything goes on - with lights, flashes, music and so on!

Nah, we have to wait for 1,000,000 for that. Then Ubuntu is popular (note: no real base for this, just a random number).

That 400,000th member thread was pretty funny. 4 pages of hype, and the guy's first post makes absolutely no sense. Then the reply after it... :shock:

This is something completely different. I am suggesting finding out that 500 000th user and at least inform him/her for being that special.

It can be found on the last page that was linked by Zdravko, and frankly it was not exactly what I was hoping from the 400,000th user, but I guess it was a little funny:).

No, I usually don't moderate the Cafe like that. Yes, we all pick and chose what we do. To get something taken care of, report it, and a moderator will pick it up.

I mostly hang around Programming Talk, ABT, GH, and the Backyard. I respond to reports of spam, malicious commands, and illegal activity the most. Other moderators have their own preferences.

(I also don't want to be messing with an admin's thread.)
