I post from time to time on the nmglug, and just registered here. Figured I would post up and maybe start some discussion.
I thought I would let everyone know about a socially ambitious project that I have. Currently we're running in a m$ environment, however today I'm about 90% complete on setting up a "Ubuntu +KDE" (kubuntu?) xrdp server for linux familiarization. In other words, I'm making a linux desktop available to my users so they can check out an alternative to window$ os, without any additional software (using their mstsc client.)
This represents something big to me, and I'm glad that ubuntu could offer a platform for this beginning.
BTW: if anyone is interested on how this was set up, I might be persuaded to put something online on how it was done, otherwise, I'll just leave this thread at a moderate "Hello, and thank you ubuntu community."
