For those of you that have downloaded Opera now that it is free, you have probably noticed that its UI is vastly different than our beloved GNOME desktop. I noticed it too, and it irked me. I like apps to have a consistent look and feel.
So rather than whine about it I created a GNOME skin for Opera that makes the browser much more consistent with the GNOME UI.
You may preview the skin here (http://my.opera.com/community/customize/comments.dml?id=3237). Due to a screw-up on my part the skin is improperly named on the Opera site (the actual name is "GNOME Opera 1.0" and not "mneptok"). That shall be fixed in the next few days.
If you're using Opera, you may immediately install the skin here (http://my.opera.com/mneptok/skins/get.pl?id=3237).
If you're morbidly curious, you can read about my thoughts on the issue on my blog (http://www.mneptok.com/article.php?story=2005092501240979).
Enjoy.
UPDATE
An updated version can now be found here (http://my.opera.com/community/customize/comments.dml?id=3255).
Installation URL is here (http://my.opera.com/mneptok/skins/get.pl?id=3255).
