Hi guys. Musta?

A few days ago bago ko matanggap yung CD, I downloaded Fedora Live, then pumunta akong POEA.

Comparing sa live versions ng Ubunti and Fedora, Ubuntu is Faster!!!

Planning to install Linux. 1 hard disk ng laptop ko. 100 GB. Hati sa dalawa. Isa main disk at yung isa recovery disk pero walang laman.

Pero nag install ako dati sa D: ng WinXP then delete ko old WinXP sa C: ... naging secondary storage ko na lang sya.

Now, sa D: may 3 GB space left, sa C: nag delete ako, 4-5GB space.

And, wala bang friendly partition manager dyan? Yung installer kasi hirap hirap. Di ko alam ext, swap etc.. at ano ba dapat size swap? 512mb memory ko. Pentium M(pentium 4) 1.7ghz 400mhz fsb, 2mb l2 cache.

Please help me ASAP, install ko na sya this afternoon.

Kung happy ako, sa friends ko nagpapatulong sa PC nila, install ko Ubuntu instead of Windows XP or Bayanihan Linux. hehehe...

ano ba talaga ang pinaka minimum requirements nito?

Thanks in advance!:guitar:

Oi, maligayang pagdating.

For the system requirements go here: http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/desktopedition

Are you running XP now? If you are using Vista, it has a utility to "shrink" your partition without messing up the data. From your post, it seems you are running out of space for Ubuntu. You can "shrink" your partition to make room for a new one as long as those sectors/tracks are contiguous. Ubuntu needs at least 4 GB though I find 10GB more realistic given the huge number of applications you will be tempted to install.

For the swap partition, 512MB will do.

Welcome to our forum and to the FOSS world.

Thanks sa invite. Wow may taga Marikina or malapit lang dito. San ka ba? Unfortunately, I am using SMART Bro, closed ata lahat ng ports nila eh, even off Firewall ko... How can I connect to IRC kung close lahat ng ports ng ISP ko?

usually linux people uses the freenode server,

for irc client, you can use one of these,

1. Pidgin
2. xchat
3. xchat-gnome <-- automatically connects to ubuntu irc server ;)
