Any info on diital camcoders

I am looking to buy a digital camcoder, but I don't know what to get what is a good resolutio and do they all plug normally to linux and can I play it in ubuntu without a proble

From my experience, just about anything with a media card/built in memory gets automatically mounted when running gnome or kde. If you want to be safe, it might be worth getting one that uses an SD card or something similar, then buy a card reader.
