Hi,

I will be filing a lawsuit soon and am shopping around for a good attorney to represent me. I narrowed my search down to four lawyers and will be meeting with them for a consultation before deciding on one of them.

Could anyone here advise me (hopefully for free :)) on what should some of my questions be? I already have some written down but need to get as much information as possible in the one hour consultation I will have with each of them, and don't want to miss anything.

Thank you.

I don't know why you are wanting a lawyer, but:

* Find out their experiences in the topic
* Find out how many times, and the outcomes, they dealt with your topic
* See if they can recommend another, if you or the lawyer don't think you would benefit from their service.

I need a lawyer because it's not a small-claims case and it involves medical experts.

I know some of the basics to ask like, how long s/he has been in practice, any specialist designation, how many similar cases, win/loss ratio, deals mostly with trials or settlements, cost, who will actually work on the case, how long the case will take, and if s/he can provide references.

Added recommendation for another lawyer.

I would also suggest you do as much research into the type of case as you can. Knowing that you might have a 35% chance of winning based on case studies will mean if your lawyer says it will be a "walk in the park" you can get up and walk out!!

Hope it goes well anyway.
