How did you find out about Ubuntu?

I saw it on youtube and then loved it once I tried it. Where did you find out about Ubuntu and when?

I heard about it on other forums. All of the linux threads had a LOT of posts about Ubuntu..some claim it's the best out there, some claim it's a noob distro...whatever, I checked it out anyways.

when my xp installation totally broke (due to excess trojans and viruses) i needed to format/reinstall windows... but i didn't have my windows cd with me (i was studying abroad at the time)

the dormitory server ran ubuntu and since it was free and i really needed to use the computer i made the plunge :) and since i had no other choice, i learned fast and became addicted

cause my dad had always done anything to do with computers for me in the past (im only 14 now), he just gave me an old computer, but when i was looking at getting a new one i decided that i wanted to build it myself, but i didnt want to pay for M$ Window$ :wink:
