I am looking for a content management system (no worries what language, the web host isn't going yet) that excells with photo galleries. It also needs to be very themeable. Oh, and easy. As you may have guessed, I have an ugly deadline and may have aimed a tad high with the first idea I had :P

By "excells with photo galleries", I mean "has powerful image features". For example, are there any CMS's out there which do on the fly image editing (on the server side) to fit their themes?
Also, there is still a written content focus, and not everything is a gallery... but that's probably a given.

I would be happy with any suggestions you know of.

I'm not sure I understand why you would need to use the image tools to edit the theme on the website.

Look at the image galleries section on this site, you can try them:

Gallery2 seems to be very nice.

I would recommend either Drupal or Joomla (CMS) in combination with Coppermine (Photo gallery).

Joomla is too big and has too many security issues - IMHO
