Hi I am in the Uk and thinking about doing my LPI 1 & 2 and then possibly my Ubuntu cert.

My question is, is it worth it? The main reason I am doing the cert is to prove to employers on paper that I am capable and to back up my experience.

I have seen a lot of jobs requesting RHCE but nothing for LPI or Ubuntu cert. Not "yet" any way in reality I will probably do them and then the RHCE to cover my self.

Not being a lover of certs, but employers seem to like them :)

Many Thanks

I'd say if you can, go ahead. The reason, there are few certified Linux pro's out there right now. A lot of guys have many years of experience, but showing that in context is hard to do from a CV sometimes. An LPI or CCNE for instance will increase your job potential two fold. Plus when you pass, gimme a shout. I want a full time LINUX network manager soon ;)
