I recently made the switch to Linux and i was wondering if there are any applications like Soulseek so i can download music if there are can someone point me in the right direction?

Illegally? Against the UF Code of Conduct. No one can help you here.

However, LimeWire/FrostWire are two P2P applications which have legit uses.

as is bittorrent, check out deluge for a nice client

Soulseek do have legal uses and Nicotine is a linux client for Soulseek. Nicotine can be installed with synaptic or apt.
