I heard in IRC someone said ATI was starting to support linux better?

Is this true?

Yes, they are opening up finally for their popular cards.

So, is ATI now better for linux users than Nvidia?

Any specific cards work really well with Ubuntu?

Not really, but they should be ready soon.

ATI still has issues I hear, with the drivers. There should be open source ones soon.

Nvidia is still better most of the time.

As for which ATI cards, wait or search for someone else's experiences. I have never used them.

Personally, I use Intel.

I have gone for NVidia in my last two computers and am very happy with them. I still have my old ATI laptop but I haven't tried any recent drivers with it.

If you're not going to be doing any heavy work with the graphics go with Intel, you just can't lose.
