Wow! the news hit Planet Ubuntu as well. I wonder why we didn't get any news/rumors about this until now.

Great news indeed. Hope this will be the start of FOSS flourishing in our country. Start 'em young! :D

The article mentions that they need people to train users on linux. Perhaps we should volunteer.

Anybody know how to contact this Richard Gonzalez? Shouldn't be too hard. We track down bugs/patches/packages everyday, surely we can track him down...

Ok...I got a lead...

Ricardo Gonzalez is a member of the Philippine Linux User Group (PLUG). They've got a website at linux.org.ph. Maybe we could get to him through that. It lists an obfuscated email address here and some numbers. Whose brave enough to approach him? hehehe

Just join the PLUG list, those people (Mr. Gonzalez included) prefers lists over forums. And his email address (the one he's using for PLUG) is rickygsj at yahoo.com if you're really interested in contacting him.

mas maganda, i-push thru natin ang Ubuntu Linux for some schools also, mas maganda kse ang approach ng Ubuntu lalo na for educational institutions, mas magiging "boom" ang Ubuntu pag mag start tau sa lower levels of educational institutions, such as elementary to high schools. Actually, may mga kinakausap na me na mga schools, converting them to use Ubuntu Linux.

Ubuntu would be very flexible, lalo na kung pang educational purposes, nanjan ang Edubuntu, which I think makakahikayat ng enthusiasm sa mga bulinggit nating mga students.

So I'm askin, I would like Philippines to be free...free from Windows and Gates...Help me spread-out the good news...Let's spread Ubuntu amongst our fellowmen.

PS.

May mga project na me nka-lineup for educational institutions. So if you would like to be a part of this projects, juz hollaback. Ok? :):KS:guitar:

wow ang ganda naman nyan. this coming march ay magkakaroon na kami ng tutorial para sa mga kids using edubuntu. kahit magkaroon ng raid di kami kasali kasi di naman windows gamit namin. next school year tatalon na kami sa edubuntu buong school dito sa CSJDM bulacan. sana lang may textbook for elementary at high school na about ubuntu...
