I'm not signing up. =/

Why not post the information?

Why not buy a Dell or System76?

I'm doing the currency conversion in my head, so this could be wrong, but those look really expensive for what they are. I easily found a system nearly identical to the "High End" Linstyle option at Best Buy for $380, which I believe is under 200 GBP.

I am in the UK but roughly 1/2 of USD

but never though of dell may have a look or just not be lazy and build a new dual core for less.

Or come to think of it I do little if any gaming I have a AMD 2500 off the top of my head it runs at 2ghz with 700m Ram with a 512 m graphics card

would you think a dual core would make much difference to me or not?

p_quarles. Welcome to rip-off Britain. :D If only life were as simple as a straight conversion. Usually you can add anything from 50% upwards for the same kit in the UK as it is in the US. Sad but true.

Still think they are a tadge pricey for a Linux PC timboellis!

And about 500% for housing.

Also I have to watch where I get my deliveries from as I am in the far far far north of Scotland and I usually get charged silly money for delivery (£30-£50) as apparently I live on an island, and my answer is the same to the lot of them "I live on the same &%£#@ island as you" but thats another story.

So I see. Dell's desktop PC with Ubuntu is listed at 499 USD, and 449 GBP. Ouch.

A fair point. Someone I was talking to just bought an apartment/condo thingy for about £500,000.

Yup. My house in St Paul, Minneapolis, would hardly buy a 1 room apartment in london :(
