C++ editor for Gnome on ubuntu

Hi ,

I want to make GUI application on Ubuntu but when I try to install kdevelop then it give error that :

configure: error: The important program kde-config was not found!

I think that It is due to that I am using Gnome........

Can any body tell me the best editor for creating C++ console and GUI application on Gnome......

Kdevelop is part of KDE. Certain KDE packages will be necessary to use it. May I suggest you to give anjuta a try? It is in the repositories.
