Hello

I live in India and a local company is going to sell re-branded Intel classmate PCs.

I really wanted to buy an XO but it was not available in India and I couldn't get anyone to ship it from the US. I think it's the ultimate geek toy.

I do a lot of software development and I was thinking of buying one of these. I just love the really small form factor and ease of carrying it around. My primary use would be to ssh into my home machine or my internet server or chat on an irc channel...

What is the scope of running ubuntu on such a mchine... i have read about people using it with ubuntu but the 2 GB flash drive and a resolution of 800x480 seem to be a roadblock....

Has anyone used ubuntu on a classmate pc or a similar machine? Can I run gnome on that resolution?

Hello Manu, I am also interested in buying HCL MiLeap L series laptop. My application is general office suite, internet. I intend to run only on Ubuntu. Will it serve my purpose? Compatibility between OpenOffice suite and MS-Office is important for me. If you know anything about my issues, pls. mail me on viladkarab@rediffmail.com
