Hi everyone!
I just thought it would be nice to have a thread to show our music done with Ubuntu / UbuntuStudio.

Well, I'll start with mine, then:

Name of the music: Reality Knocking at My Door
Description: This is just how I feel when reality is knocking at my door asking to come in and join me.
Link: http://carlosmoraes.googlepages.com/alphasong

It was all made in a Linux UbuntuStudio 7.04 box upgraded to 7.10.
All guitars and the bass were recorded with a POD X3 Live.
The software used:
- Drums: Hydrogen (http://www.hydrogen-music.org)
- Multi-track: Ardour2 (http://www.ardour.org)
- Mastering: Jamin (http://jamin.sf.net)

And of course, Jack.

Hardware:
P4 HT 3.0GHz, 2Gb RAM, M-Audio Delta 1010LT.

So, that's it.
I hope you like it and show yours here.

Rock on,

Carlos Moraes

I'm currently using it to do some audio work, but none of it is done yet. Hydrogen is a fantastic drum machine!

Great quality!!!!
Well done!
Great job!!!

What kind of softwares are you using there?
Can you tell us more about how you accomplish this?

Regards,

Carlos Moraes

Nice sounds jclmusic. The album doesn't download for me though, probably a web site problem. (Sorry it's OK it's downloading now!)

Could you please explain, what I have to do in order to get my POD X3 live running with ubuntu?

It's the only thing that keeps me from completely changing to Ubuntu

Well done guys, I have yet to get up and running with the Linux DAW's as its quite a daunting task, especially when switching from Sonar 7.

Are there any good complete tutorials out there that detail how to get LMMS working with Ardour working with Hydrogen working with Rosegarden, etc?

Heres a question to add to the post:

How long was the learning curve for you when switching to Linux? And what did you come from?

Very nice! Man, if you could bring those drums and the bass out a bit more that would pass as a album-quality Progressive rock song in my opinion! Keep up the great work!

Hey, man ...
The only way I'm able to use Line 6 Monkey and Gearbox is in Windows XP. So I installed it in a virtual machine using VirtualBox (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VirtualBox). At least I don't need to reboot every time I want to program the POD.

So ... I'd try VirtualBox with this as well.
Line 6 never showed any intention on porting their software to Linux and I haven't seen any open source effort on Line 6 gear also.

Well ... I came from nowhere so I had to learn it from the beginning, from scratch.
As for the tutorials, I can't point you to a specific one. But Google is your friend, right?
