Hey, I have a problem with booting the 2.6.12 smp kernel. It waits about 5 seconds to start anything and then starts displaying that modules are missing. it does 1 about every second for about 30 seconds. Then it goes through the boot process at a snails pace taking about 90 minutes to get X running. My computer is to slow to be used taking several minutes to open synaptic. I became so fed up that i rebooted and turned off hyperthreading support in my BIOS. The kernel booted perfectly this time. After this test i installed the 2.6.10 smp kernel and turned on hyperthreading support. My comp booted perfectly once again. This leads me to believe that there is a bug in the 2.6.12 smp kernel. Does anyone else have the problem.
